MOTHER EARTH I

From the Universe of Stars comes Mother Earth.

She is faithful and staunch.

Her deft fingers and strong hands mold

So carefully the Big Blue,
given in trust, known as Earth.

Caretakers are we, yes, one and all.

Meant to be.

MOTHER EARTH II

See the watery world from whence we came -
the magnificent beginnings of life,
a water world hence returned to in Noah’s time.

And from there yet another chance to make amends.

Shall this life continue to abound
amidst our pollutions and carelessness?

See Mother Earth

She is robed in the Color of Sorrow.

See how the tempests of mankind blow defined
ripples in the fabric of her gown and shadows
of darkness within her hair.

She is ever turned - tuned - to the brilliant colors
of the sun setting upon the horizon.

She is silent.

She is waiting.

Mother Earth belongs to us, as we to her.

Where is the peace she seeks amongst us?

This nest egg begins to rumble
with manifestations of war.

Is it time for a new life to emerge
or merely an outward changing of the times?

Will a most wonderous guardianship soon evade us?

MOTHER EARTH V

Mother Earth is resigned

To play her tune as the mountains turn
and the skies reflect their brilliance.

Mother Earth is.

Will she continue TO BE?

MOTHER EARTH VI

Behold the luminescent sphere
held so tenaciously within the life that Mother Earth
has cherished in this brief moment of Universal Time.

Take heed, my children to the many signs
and wonders of this day.

For Alas, that which we have feared
may well be nigh upon us.

MOTHER EARTH VII

A caring mother is Earth.

Out of the vastness of space she has labored to show
her love and generosity to her children – Mankind.

Grown accustomed to this nurturing
-so much giving-
will we reap what we have sown?

Sow we now

A reciprocity of this love?
